Hi! I'm Charlene from Malaysia and I'm 17. I'm here to improve my English and learn French as well. I can speak Chinese and Malay too. I'm interested in quite a lot things: dancing, playing basketball (although I'm not good at it), reading and watching movies. I would like to study medicine in the future so I hope to look for a person to share his/her experience regarding to studying medicine or working as a healthcare professional. Besides, we can also talk about any other subjects, or if you need help in learning Chinese, feel free to send me a message!
I'm a huge fan of thriller films; I enjoy the tension and anxiety that they elicit. I love reading as well, non-fiction novels in particular.
One of my pet peeves is many peoples' conflation of "Malay" and "Malaysian". A Malay is a person who belongs to an ethnolinguistic group while a Malaysian is a citizen of Malaysia. He/she could be a Malay, Chinese, Indian, or any one of the many ethnic groups that make up the multicultural country.
