    Hello everyone!

    I am Wilhelm, a 23-year-old guy from Germany. As a chemistry student, I am highly interested in science and its environmental aspects.

    Besides science, I like to go outside and be active. You can find me on hiking paths, riding my bike or swimming. In addition, I enjoy reading, listening to music on foreign radio stations and writing poems. Moreover, I'm a Protestant Christian.

    My passion is learning languages and using them for nice conversations. Therefore, I am looking for pen pals who want to write in their native language (or another language they practice) with me. I can speak English, French, and Russian. Currently, I am learning Norwegian and Finnish, but I am always open to learning new languages. I can help you learn German and English — but not from scratch. Use Duolingo or another app instead.

    I also appreciate sending handwritten letters, and I'm therefore looking for snail mail pals. If possible, I'd like to combine it to have a letter and a language exchange 😃

    I am an introvert (INFP-T) and therefore rather shy in terms of meeting new people or starting a conversation. However, that applies to German people only.
    When I switch to another language (not necessarily English), I am quite open, and it's not a problem to get in touch with others.

    I am an expert at chemistry as this is my field of studies. Being in my master's, I like to deal with technical chemistry and the combination of chemistry and engineering.

    I have already been to most of the neighbouring countries of Germany, including Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark. Furthermore, I've been on a cruise from on the Danube river from Germany via Austria and Slovakia to Hungary. Besides that, I have spent some days in the United Kingdom (England, Wales), Belarus and Russia.

    I am interested in reading historical novels, fantasy, crime and thrillers. My favourite authors are Dan Brown and Ursula Poznanski.
    Unlike books, I can't stand watching movies with violence (i.e., crime and thrillers). I like to watch realistic series about young people (SKAM and its adoptions) but also series about historical events (e.g. Babylon Berlin) or about dramas (e.g. Sløborn).
